Anybody that hits their tee shot into the Penalty Area and either does not find their ball or chooses to not even look for it may use the drop area adding 1 stroke. On #13, the drop area will be on the other side of the creek in the rough just short of the fairway. On #15 the drop area will be in front of the tee boxes down a bit in the fairway. Both drop areas will be marked with white paint. Drop within painted area.
The Weed Line left, on the entire hole shall be played as a Penalty Area. If you find your ball you may play it as it lies. Provided your ball does not move, moving loose impediments and grounding your club is acceptable. If you do not find your ball, it is deemed to be in the penalty area. Determine the point where the ball crossed the Weed Line, drop within 2 club lengths of that point no nearer the hole and add a penalty of 1 stroke.
Anybody that hits their second shot into any penalty area and either does not find their ball or chooses to not even look for it may use the drop area on the far side of the creek adding 1 stroke. The drop area will be on the other side of the creek just short of the fairway. Both drop areas will be marked with white tee markers. Tee shots entering the penalty area will need to use the standard USGA rule when taking relief.
Out of bounds on the left will be on top of the dam on the hole side of the road as defined by the course. Between the road on top of the dam and the weed line at the base of the dam shall be played as a Penalty area.
For any Tee shot hit into the Penalty Area before fully crossing the creek, the drop area is the Black Tee Box.
Score Card Must Be Time Stamped after 9 & 18
Ready Golf - Play Ready Golf - Ready Golf - Play Ready Golf - Ready Golf
Play Ready Golf! It is the obligation of every player to play without delay and to keep up with the group ahead of them. Here area few pointers we ask you to follow:
Each group MUST have their scorecard time stamped by the starter at the beginning of the round. Each group MUST also have the group marshal time stamp the scorecard at * THE SCORING TABLE AFTER 9 HOLES AND at the COMPLETION of the round.
NOTE: Please don't stamp your card until your entire group is finished putting out on # 9 AND on # 18. It's not fair to the group behind you if you stamp before your group is finished. After stamping your card at the completion of your round, ensure all players sign the card and the totals are accurate and then turn it into the scoring committee without delay.
If you are 15 minutes or less behind the group in front of you after #9 OR your TOTAL play time on the front 9 is no more than 2 hours and 15 minutes, no penalty.
If you are 15 minutes OR less behind the group in front of you after #18 OR your TOTAL play time on the back 9 is no more than 2 hours and 15 minutes, no penalty.
Groups in breach of the above statements will receive a 1 stroke penalty for either 9 where their time stamps don't comply (+2 Strokes Max) - UNLESS the TOTAL play time for their round is 4 Hours and 30 Minutes or less.
No time stamp after either 9, will result in a 1 stroke penalty for that 9. 2 strokes if no time stamps after either 9.
Chronically slow players may be subject to censure and/or refusal to renew their memberships for the following year. Aside from just our designated Group Marshal, let's all take it upon ourselves to be Group Marshals, help each other out with difficult situations that slow the pace and do what we can, as soon as we can, to move on and make our next play! We as a club have got to do our part to make our tournament process faster. If you have a routine for practicing your game, include ways that you can make it faster. We have many great members and a great golf club and we are depending on everyone's integrity to take this to heart and make it the best golf club in the city.
The 4 Man / 2 Day and 2 Man / 2 Day tournaments will BOTH have an extra cash payout for the top 4 teams in each Calcutta flight. The Calcutta Cash Pots will be built from money taken in for the sale of each team at the Calcutta Auctions.
We will gather at 6:30 PM at Kennedy Restaurant on the Friday evenings prior to these tournaments. Players may buy teams in hopes that those teams will finish in one of the top four places in the tournament. Often players bid in "syndicates" to improve their buying power. The Owner(s) of the top 4 teams will win the Calcutta pots in the following breakdown (40%, 30%, 20%, and 10%). Both Calcutta events will have two separate Calcutta pots.
Prior to the start of the tournament, if a team does not own the full interest in their team, they have the option to "buy back" a half interest in their team for half the bid price by making arrangements directly with the person who bought the team. The Committee assumes no responsibility for buy-backs. There will be several thousand dollars at stake, so it is IMPERATIVE that all players who sign up to play show up to the tournament and not eliminate their team from the Calcutta. ANY team(s) who ends up with a member who is a NO-SHOW will be EXCLUDED from the Calcutta portion of the payouts. Money spent on the purchase of the team(s) with a no-show will be refunded IN FULL to the owner(s) of the team(s).
Because of the importance of maintaining the integrity of these Calcutta events, players who are no-shows at these tournaments may be barred from participating in future team events.
